The 580 kilometres of cost line of Kerala has blessed the state with some of the best beaches in India. Whether it is for romantic holidays or for wild parties with friends Kerala various kinds of beaches that suits the taste of different kind of travellers.  Millions of travellers visit Kerala every year and most of them are confused about the beaches, here are the list of few best beaches in Kerala. 

1.    SANGHUMUGHAM BEACH


Sanghumugham is a beautiful and attractive beach in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala state. It is a quiet and attractive beach located near the city of Thiruvananthapuram. Beautiful place to visit especially for the sunset lovers.
Other attractions include a sculpture of mermaid by famous artist Kanayi Kunjiraman, Jawaharlal Nehru Park of traffic signs for children. Nice place to hang out.


2.    KOVALAM BEACH


Kovalam beach is one of the famous beaches in Kerala near Thiruvananthapuram, it is one of the best places to visit in Kerala. The beach has got three part such as the  Light house beach, Hawa beach and Samudra beach. The place not only provide a great sun shine but also well for some adventure sports like parasailing and other water sports.
The place is known for good Ayurvedic massage centres. Kovalam is a small beach but still favoured a lot of tourist also because of the availability of good restaurants, affordable hotel stays etc...

3.    ALAPPUZHA BEACH


Alappuzha, known as the Venice of the East is known for its backwaters. Alappuzha beach is one of the best beaches in Kerala. The beach is good and neat to hang out, the cultural programmes are held during special days adds more beauty. 
Beach is well connected with road to the nearest bus and railway station.

4.    MARARI BEACH 


Marari beach is located in Alappuzha, it is one of the least explored beached in Kerala but, this secluded beach is beautiful and clean.  The golden white sands and the coconut groves make it a beach which is best for picnics. Lay down under shades of the coconut sipping the tender coconut water or just enjoy the sunset, this less crowded beach in Kerala is a perfect tourist spot. 

5.    VARKALA BEACH


Varakala beach is a beautiful and excellent beach located  in the district of Thiruvananthapuram. Listed as one of the top ten beaches in India. The beautiful mountain chains give a charming view of the beach. Good beach for swimming  and for sun bathing.

6.    CHERAI BEACH, KOCHI


Cherai beach is a fabulous beach to visit in Kochi. The shallow beach is best for   swimming and the evening sun set is amazing. Speed boat rides and water scooter are also other attractions. 

7.     BEYPORE BEACH

Beypore beach is a beautiful beach located in the district of Kozhikode. Beypore is a historically important place in  Kerala, the beach gets crowded during the weekends. A major attraction here is the stone pier running almost a kilometre from the shore to the sea.  This beach is best for picnics, family trips and also for photography. 

8.    KAPPAD BEACH

Kappad beach is famous in Kerala renowned for its historical importance. It is here Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama landed with his fellow sailors in the year 1498. 

9.    MUZHAPPILANGAD DRIVE –IN BEACH

   Muzhappilangad beach is located in Kannur district of Kerala state. It is the longest drive-in beach in India, with a four kilometres long shoreline. Muzhappilangad is situated between the Kannur and Thalassery. The beach is good, clean and safe as there is stretches of rocks to calm down the currents. Good for other adventurous water sports also safe place to swim.

Other attraction here is the Dharamadom Island,  which is a beautiful place where one can walk from Muzhappilangad through sea during low tide.

10.    BEKAL BEACH AND BEKAL FORT


Bekal is a beautiful beach in Kasaragod district of Kerala, also known for the famous Bekal fort. The beach has got a walk-way for exploring the beauty of the place.
