Chinnar wildlife sanctuary, Munnar

Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is a palce to see in Munnar, it is located in Marayooor, in  Munnar. The sanctuary is home to the endangered Grizzled Giant Squirrel, infact the sanctuary supports the second largest Grizzled Giant Squirrel population in the world. The Munnar-Udumalpet road passes through this sanctuary for 16 km dividing it into almost equal parts. Chinnar River and Pambar River are the two water resource in the sanctuary. Chinnar wildlife sanctuary has many wide variety of flora and fauna, including peacocks, elephants, deer, samabr and more. Marayoor sandalwood forest is the part of Chinnar wildlife sanctuary .Chinnar wildlife sanctuary  is a must see destinaion in Idukki. Thoovanam water falls- is another major tourist attraction that lies deep within the sanctuary.
