Malayattoor hillBack

Malayattor hills is located in the Malayattoor village, North eastern corner of Ernakulum district Kerala. The place is famous for the Malayattoor church and the annual great festival (Perunnal). The St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church is dedicated to St. Thomas who landed in Kerala AD 52.  The church and the nature around it  attracts a large number of pilgrims and also the travelers.   The highest peak in this area is the Kurishu Mudi which stands 609m from the sea level.  The Malayttoor forest has one of  the biggest teak tree in the world, the teak tree is 300 years old, has a diameter of 7.65 meters and it is 40 meters tall.  The Malayttoor forest is rich in flora and fauna, it is also best for trekking.
