Hill Palace Museum, Thripunithura

The Hill palace museum is best for travellers who are interested in history and archaeology, and it is also suitable for family trips with kids. This is the largest archaeological museum in Kerala, the official residence of the Kochi royal family. The Hill Palace is complex of 49 houses, which occupies an area of 52 acres and the building was completed in 1865, in traditional architectural style of Kerala.  The Palace currently is maintained as a museum, there are more than 200 antique objects, chariots used by the kings and various other ornaments, which gives the travellers a descent look into the vibrant era of the Kings. Other notable objects are the rock-cut tools from the stone age and plaster cast models of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro civilization.

 The Palace has a mini zoo which features some of the animals such as deer, peacock and the area around it has some of the rare medicinal plants of Kerala, an ideal place for kids.
